Joan, I just received the news of Harold and I am so sorry for your loss. He was a good man, great sense of humor and always a friend to lend a helping hand. It was always amazing to watch you two put "Pretty Girl" in her slip without the motor. A fabulous picture, just the way I remember him. May peace and great memories stay with you always. I can't say that I was the part of the "dirty dozen", but I too have fond memories of Harold and Joan our neighbors across the dock @ Demens. When I pass by Pretty Girl over on the North docks, it's Harold who I see in the cockpit and hear his very distinct voice greeting me as I walk by.
Joan and family, I am sorry for your loss. PS, I love the picture!

So sorry to hear of Harolds passing. I grew up down the street from the Farringtons and I was friends with Jeff. One day Harold took Jeff, his Mom and myself south of the Skyway Bridge to go clamming. I gave one that I'd found to Harold and he cut it open, cut the muscles and hands it to me on the knife. I shook my head no and he said "really, it's ok. Just let it slide down your throat". So I did and it wasn't bad at all. Another time he took Jeff and I up in a Cessna at the Clearwater Airport. Thank you Harold for two of my favorite childhood memories! Again, very sad to hear of his passing. -Bill McMahon

I met Harold and his wife Joan over 15 years ago through there daugther Karen,
I have been over to there home for holidays and just a family meal or lunch
Karens Dad always made you feel welcome in there home when you were a guest ,
He was a kind man and I enjoyed conversation with him,
He talked about his sail boat the first time I met him and showed me pictures of it .
He and his wife Joan they were living off Gandy Blvd Karen and I were over for dinner one weekend we started talking about boats his face lit up ! I have shared thanksgiving with Mr & Mrs Farrington at there son Keith and daugther Kim I remember after dinner that day Harold got up from the table and said to everyone I think I will take a nap!
It was thanksgiving that day as he walked to the other room to much turkey he said .
Off he went, we were in the kitchen at the table a family and friend gathering spot when
ever you are a guest in any of the Farringtons home, I can say first hand over the years of knowing them though Karen , He was helpful and kind cooked a good steak !
When I saw him around his wife you could see the love between them when Keith was around his Dad when Karen and I were visiting them the relationship between the two of
them was truley special they were best friends . I can remember Karen calling her Dad
when we had a problem with the electric in the house and helping her try to figure it out !
Harold had a smile that lit up a room and a voice that could keep you interested in what
he was talking about to you in conversation. A very sweet kind hearted person who I
was glad to know and was able to spend time with at diiferent events over the years.
The last time I saw him was earlier this year smiling I remember he was sitting in his
favorite chair Karen was in town Harold was playing with Buffey . Joan was making Lunch !
May you rest in peace Harold I'm sure that your family will miss you dearly . I am so
glad to have met you sir God Bless you and may God welcome you in to his arms .

Harold was a very caring and wonderful person. I know when I was down a couple of years ago to visit that he would go out off his way to make sure that we were having a good time. He could also be funny and especially made me laugh when he would try and get buffys toy or snack knowing that she was going to bite him. He will be missed dearly and I'am glad I got down there a couple of years ago to see him and Joan. evelyn

So sorry to hear about Harold. We have so many wonderful memories of our days living aboard at Demens. Remember our sailing dinks? The BBQs, Pretty Girl, and it's sweet sounding engine that Harold could make purr. Dinners at Brewmasters in Pinellas Park with Tony and Carol and Joe and Noreen and the rest of the gang. Then coming back to the marina for Drambuies. I'll never forget you calling me to wake up Harold (you were up north I believe) and I was afraid because Harold had always said he would shoot anyone who set foot on his boat in the middle of the night!!! Then there was the Hunter 33. We all needed more space. I remember going to Shell Key on that boat with you both. We could never get our engine running! So many good times. Harold was a fighter, a strong man who will never be forgotten.
