I can remember many times standing at the end of the driveway waiting for Steve to pull up in Old # 7 and take me fishing. I'd be out there 2 hours early casting across the yard for practice. I always wanted him to think I could fish as well as he could. Try as I might, I never quite reached that goal. He could catch a mess of bluegills in a rain puddle. When I saw that rickety Chevy van puttering down Iowa I could hardly contain myself. I'm going to miss my brother as much as anyone. At least there is some small comfort knowing he'll be fishing everyday, with endless buckets of crickets & worms and the "mondos" are always bedding. Its gonna be some reunion up there with my Father Lucky & my brother Mike. Save me a spot in the boat guys! Until then, I'll be looking up & down the street, waiting for Old # 7. Damn I'm gonna miss him.

Stephen L. talk about memories, I have more than I can count !!! once *(when he was with Shirley ) I came home from work & there was Steve, naked as a jay bird on the couch with a bottle of gin in one hand & slim jims in the other. he wouldn't wake up so, I just covered him up. It was a shame that there was no flim in any of the cameras in the house !!!!!! lol everything day I gave him $ to buy worm to go fishing, it was the only way to get out of our hair. But, you couldn't help but love him.my thoughts & prayers are with his family. God broke the mode when he created Steve & I don't think there ever be another one that would even come close to him. With our deepest Sympathy NATHAN, HUFFIE & SHARON SANTOS

When Steve and I were married the theme of our wedding was "Today I marry my friend". We have been divorced much longer than we were married, but I can truly say Steve has always been my family and my friend. See you on the flip side A.H.

THIS IS MY BEST FRIEND, OVER THE PAST 16 YEARS WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH MORE THEN ONE CAN SAY.. TRIPS WITH ALL THE CHILDREN, FISHING, CAMPING AND JUST OUR OWN TIME TOGETHER. AT FIRST WE WHERE NOT CLOSE BUT AS TIME WENT BY WE GREW CLOSE AND I FOUND A TRUE FRIEND IN STEVE, SOMEONE I COULD JUST SIT AND TALK TO FOR HOURS, FOR I WILL MISS THIS PART OF OUR FRIENDSHIP. STEVE TOLD ME ONE TIME , THE ONLY WAY THAT YOU WILL EVER BE HAPPY IS TO BE HAPPY WITH YOURSELF FIRST AND EVERYTHING WILL FALL IN PLACE. IT TOOK ME SOME TIME TO REALIZE HE WAS RIGHT,AND NOW I AM. WITH HIS PASSING I SAY TO ALL , BE HAPPY WITH YOURSELF AND ALL WILL BE GOOD.
