Obituary of Jonathan Edward Danforth

Jonathan Edward Danforth “Jon” (Age 72)

Jon passed away peacefully on December 19, 2022, at his residence in St. Pete Beach, FL. He was born on January 22, 1950 in Washington, DC, a son of the late Robert Compton Danforth and Margaret Hill Vowles. Jon received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida Presbyterian College (now Eckerd College) in St. Petersburg, Florida and worked as a graphic designer for many years in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Jon was preceded in death by his wife, Veronique “Vero” Nancy Danforth (nee Noel) and is survived by his son Nathan Richard Danforth and his family including wife Anna (nee Yeager), and their children Mason William as well as Noelle Emmy. He is also survived by his brothers Peter (Vicki) and Timothy (Candace).

Jon was loved by all for his conversation and easy friendship. Jon and Vero lived in McLean and Arlington (Virginia) and moved to St. Pete Beach, Florida after both retired. Jon was an avid biker, gardener, reader, and spent years perfecting his baking skills, particularly his brioche bread that he made frequently for guests. Both Jon and Vero enjoyed traveling the world together. They visited endless countries and had countless stories of their trips, but their favorite place to travel was Veronique’s native country of France and visit with family.

If you would like to donate in his honor, Jon was an avid supporter of the WETA PBS organization. If you wish to donate, please visit https://go.weta.org/donate.
