Shirley will forever be missed. She never failed to make me feel welcomed and always treated me as if I was part of the family. All my love to Ed and the entire family.

Dear Eddy and family,
I am so saddened to hear of Mickey's Shirley passing. I have very fond childhood memories of spending summer vacations at Gale Farm in Walkill, NY, with you all! Last night I was thinking of the time when Mickey was blanching beets for canning in that big farmhouse kitchen - it was fun... our hands were stained with beet juice, but conversation with Shirley always made everything fun. Shirley took special time with me when I was little and made me feel very much at home - I'll never forget her and the rest of you all for that. Oh, and all the corn we used to eat there! I remember not being able to get used to the taste of fresh cow's milk when I first arrived for a visit, then thinking how the "whole" milk back home in Connecticut tasted like skim milk when I returned!
Remembering fishing or swimming in the river with Karen, Eddy Joe and Dougie I can still see your faces in my memory - where you could look down from the road and see giant Carp in the water. Also the long walks from the house to the store at the end of the road where we would go to fill up on candy... And of course, the cottage where Jane and I would think about camping in but would always want to come back in the house when it got dark! Oh - and Laddie! Beautiful old Laddie the collie.
Remembering how I couldn't wait to get to the barn to see if any calves had been born - yep, there's little city kid Maureen sliding in to the barn, probably dressed in white clothes... and Uncle Tony wanting to go directly to the milk cooler area in the barn to have at least a few beers with Eddy! LOL....
I love my memories of Shirley, Eddy and the kids - seems like more than a lifetime ago but very present in my mind.
I love you all and I am very sorrowful for your loss.
