My best times with Carol were in some of Key West's finest establishments. It was a time like no other, with friends like none other. We lived life as if there were no tomorrow, and laughed together...at each other and those inevitable tourists! "To Us, None Better"

Dallas, Though we've never met my thoughts and prayers are with you. I met Carole when she was just 18 through my good friend Maryanne. I was 21, and those days have become the foundation of my life. Carole was part of that experience and she has always been a part of my inner core. Trouble making in DE, water skiing in Salem NJ and visits to Key West. I have never forgotten the date of her B-day and every year the date rolled around I would think of her and remember those great old days. I know she has touched many lives and she will be missed by all.
With deepest sympathy,
Sue

Dallas, and all the old friends I have just read memories from. I am just heart sick over learning of Carole's passing. We go way back to when Carole was 16. Remember that Lil? Fyling kites at the Battery Park. The odd thing is I had dinner with my friend Sue L. on July 12th and we were talking about Carole and decided we would track her down so we have been looking for a way to get in touch with her for the past several weeks. I was shocked when Sue called me with this news. I hope Carole knows that she was in our thoughts and we were looking for her. I deeply regret that I was too late to talk to her in person. As many of you have mentioned, I have my memories of her and will not forget. Dallas, you are in my prayers. Hi to Lil, Trouble, Bo I would love to see that video you have of her. I can be reached at 610-529-2189. Maryanne

Carole spent her summers when she was a little girl at Oakwood Beach with her family. There were many fond memories with her cousin Jon, Libby, Kelly and John C and other children in the nieghborhood. She liked spending most of her time outside boating, crabbing, fishing and swimming and she always had a smile for everyone.
Thank you Dallas for being so wonderful to her through the most difficult time in her life. Aunt Lyn

Dallas, Since Carole and I were kids, we were part of several "families". Playing in our neighborhood, we were part of the Wilmington Manor family. Growing through puberty, we became part of the lesbian family. I wish we had not come to the point in life where we became part of the cancer patient family. Carole was always her own person; a unique individual. I am glad that she never let cancer change that. She may seem to have lost the final battle, but in truly LIVING to the end, she won the war.

I was heart-broken to hear that Carole passed away. She and I had been friends since we were 18 years old. We played pool together and one of my most cherished memories is our team's trip to St. Louis for the Nationals and the fun and trouble we got into. Thank God I was a nut with a video camera, because I will always have her smiling face to bring her back when I need a lift. She had no fear and lived life to the fullest each and every day. I don't remember a day when she ever let anything get her down. She will be dearly missed by her friends in Delaware. I'll miss ya Bud!

Dear Dallas, I've known Carol for so many years, watching her grow up from just a little girl with my sister, Lil and friend Judy. They were the 3 little girls on the block with all little boys. Carol was always having fun enjoying life to the fullest. I will always remember that cute smile, her fun loving nature and her sense of adventure. She was always ready to try something new without fear or regret. I am so sorry I missed her and you when she was in Delaware for her father's burial. I did have the opportunity to speak to her briefly, I know she was fighting with all she had to overcome this dreadful disease. I offer you my deapest sympathy and heartfelt condolences. Sincerely, Eileen Spinken-Wierzbicki

Carole and I were fast friends growing up together in New Castle, DE. I have so many great memories....playing ball, her teaching me to water ski, me teaching her to drive, sneaking out, listening to 8-track tapes, and finding ourselves. I will always remember Carole's happy, fun-loving spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with Dallas and Carole's family of friends.

I will always treasure our summers on Oakwood Beach. Carole and I spent nearly every summer day as kids either swimming, boating, crabbing, making sand castles, playing 'cowgirls and indians', riding bikes, marching in the Tootsie Roll Parade...many, many fond memories. Much peace and love to her and those who have been with her in recent years....

Carole brought much joy to our lives as our second "daughter". When visiting us in Annapolis, she greatly reduced the crab population, sharing feasts with both her immediate and extended family. Happy memories include many Sorry games and countless Wii bowling games - she was the champion! Also, she always made us feel welcome in her home. Carole will always be with us. Mom and Dad Hinson
