Thank you all for your support, prayers and love through this. He was a special person in our lives and loved us all in his own way. Hopefully we can keep his legacy alive with continuing what his death started and become a closer family. I love him so very much and am so grateful that we had time these last years together.

Pop was an awesome man and helped raise a really great mom for me. More than that, he affected many lives in a sizable way. I think he even kept my dad ?in check? sometimes.
My memories of him, though many go back ?a ways?, are quite fond. His trips to Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Texas are firmly etched in my mind. So, is ?the home that Pop built? in St. Pete. When I was a kid he was fun yet firm AND fair. When I became old enough to converse a little more intelligently, those lessons he taught me are things I apply to this day ? work hard, do it well and do it right, get the right tools for the job, don?t take life for granted, take care of your family, getting older and retiring isn?t a vacation ? these are some quick things which come to mind. He was always a gracious man and seemed as if he would give you the shirt off of his back which, by the way, was permanently tanned by years of hard work in the sun.
I know he had a hard time reading my writing along the way in the sparse cards and letters I sent, but his playful responses to them always gave me a chuckle. I hope he knew how much I loved him and how highly I thought of him. Though I know he became more frail in his later years, I will always think of him as ?rock? of a man, solid in stature and character, one who made this world a better place and one who I was blessed to have known. I?m just amazed at the trials and tribulations that he went through and am looking forward hopefully to an eternity with him in the joy and peace of our Lord and Savior.

I have such fond memories of our frequent trips to St. Pete to visit Grandma and Pop when I was a child. Pop was a great man in my eyes, and I regret that I hadn't stayed in contact with him over my adult years.

"POP", you have been my father-in-law since I married your son John,Jr. in l969. I will treasure all my memories of family get-togethers on holidays at your home when our children Debi & Tray were small. I especially will remember all the wee hours talks we had when you came up to Austell, GA and lived with John and I and children. You had a great sense of humor and always teased me....sometimes I didn't appreciate it!, but I was young and naive and got my feeling hurt easily> My best and fondest memories are when "MOM", your "Ginny" was alive and John & I and you and mom went out for seafood every friday nite. Some great times with the "in-laws". You will dearly be missed!!!!! I know that you will be happy and at peace and now be with your beloved wife "Ginny" and "Grandma Adams" your mom and our LORD in heaven. Love in Christ,
Caryl your daughter-in-law
