Obituary of Arlene May Bodine

Bodine, Arlene May 63, of Saint Petersburg, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012 with her family by her side. She was born in Newark, New York, and moved to Florida in August of 1980. She graduated from Phelps Central High, in Phelps, N.Y. She was a member of American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She retired from the Pinellas County Sherriff's office in 1996. Arlene was a very selfless and giving lady. She was always willing to help others. She loved her grandchildren and their parents. She adored her husband. The family matriarch, she was always available to lend an ear and offer advice. She was a dedicated and loyal wife, and the perfect mother and grandmother, and she will be missed by her husband of 44 years, Ronald Clayton Bodine who loved her very much; her children, Tammy and her husband Christopher Hale and Patrisha and her husband Frank Frederick; her grandchildren Hayden and Colin Hale and Allison and Lauren Frederick, and her mother, Genevieve Hand. She is also survived by her brothers Ed Hand, David Hand and a sister Vivian Russell, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin L. Hand. The family will have a private time of remembrance at a later time. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Arlene's name to American Cancer Society.
