Obituary of Carl R. Collins

COLLINS, Carl Russell Jr. 85, of Gulfport, passed away Oct. 21, 2012 born in Williamsport, PA. He is survived by wife Rita; sons, James, Michael; and daughter Nancy, grandchildren Desiree, Michael, Savanna, John, Arielle and Alicia; great-grandson, Aiden, He served in he USN from 1944-46 and again from 1953-56. He graduated from Penn State University. He worked for Florida Power and retired after 26 years as VP of the Suncoast Division. After retirement he worked for George F. Young, Inc. He was active in the St. Petersburg Kiwanis Club, Suncoasters, Inc., The Salvation Army and served on the boards of these as well as others. Funeral services will be held at he First United Methodist Church of Gulfport, 2728 53rd St. S. on Tues, Oct. 23rd at 3 pm.
