I will always remember Leigh ~
I met her in 1980 -1981 She hired me to work with her at ~~,CAPTAIN -JOHN'S~~
We had so many fun times In that place working with JOHN...
They were a pair!!! ~ Leigh was protective of me as I was 18 and just out of beauty school. She loved life... I'll never forget the day her high heel broke off of her tan gogo boots and the nails in the heels of the boots got caught in the floor Matt, she was doing a client and she could not get the boot out of the Matt, she was stuck....
oh my gosh we laughed for hours and she kept those darn things on all day ...
It was hysterical, and I can still see her ...
I think she kept them on all day just so we had something to laugh at!...
:@)
I also remember her love for animals...And that bird( Leo I think?)
give me kiss !
Leigh
Thank you for sharing your ~talents, love, and friendship so freely and easily then.
I have carried those things you taught me to this day.
I am sadned by Jason having to call me with the sad news.
God Bless You for you were so special.
Truly,
Micki Mazza

Baby doll, I will love and miss you forever. Rest in peace.

Leigh,
You brought a smile out and a new life for my father in the very short time the two of you had together. We all loved you and enjoyed the fun times we shared. We will miss our Saturday nights out with you and dad watching you two dance and laugh. We will forever love you and cherish the times we shared. You made a difference in everybody you touched. I admired your positive outlook on life and how you lived in the moment. You always knew how to have fun. Your memory will always live in our hearts. We love you Leigh!

There are many people who knew Leigh from a variety of contexts.
You might think that knowing her as someone who I always called mom would mean that she would spend hours searching for the smallest error in you. You would be wrong. Over time, you would realize that she simply had the same standard for you that she had for her own child, which is to say "very high." She definitely wanted the best for her child, but she expected the very best from him. It was true for her son, but also for the people he married.
Knowing her as part of the family, you would know that you were loved, and know the high expectations. Knowing her as one who wanted me to marry into the family, you knew that you were loved just the same, but loved voluntarily. It meant knowing that she would make desserts at holidays, just for you. It meant knowing that she would brag on you and your accomplishments just as much as she bragged on any of her son.
To know her was to see her, listening to music that she didn't like, looking at memorabilia that I cared for, and watching classic shows and endless movies with me. Did she have fun? Probably… but in all honesty, she did it for love.
Knowing that I referred to her as mom, you might have expected her to be the embodiment of every joke about them you've ever heard. Knowing her as possibly your future mother-in-law, you learned that she was much funnier than any of the jokes, and never took herself too seriously. It meant endless stories of family and friends from California, years of pecan pies and sunny days at the condo.
She loved the Cajun Cafe on the Bayou. Whenever I came in for a workshop or a conference, that's where I took her to eat. We always ordered the crawfish spread and the Creole Gumbo, with salad and beer. These moments were nice because we'd sit there and talk about everything and everybody. Even when her son wasn't in town and by my side she'd never thought of me any less and we could still talk openly just as we had before. She loved you Jason and thought the world of you!
But whom I called simply Mom was never dictatorial or difficult.
She was such a gentle lady that I have not seen her losing her temper ever since I met her son.
It is a fact that I got along great with her sometimes even better than my own because mom and I had never quarreled throughout the years of our relationship.
I still remember my first date with her son some 11 odds years ago.
In order to gain favor from his mom, I invested in my first coconut custard and Boston cream pie for her supper.
In exchange of these deserts, I was amply rewarded with delicious fares such as her famous pot roast amongst many others.
Besides her culinary skills, I truly believe that it was the love that she put into the preparations of the countless lunches and dinners that made her dishes so special.
Thank you for your untiring love.
Although we can no longer celebrate happy occasions like this in person with you, you will always be fondly remembered.
This is just a temporary good bye for we know that we will meet again when the time comes for us to meet our Lord and Savior.
You'll always be in my heart.
I love you,
Christina
