Obituary of Eva Maria Eanes

Eva Maria Eanes 1924 - 2011 Mom was born in Dresden, Germany October 12th, 1924. Mom was a nurse during World War II. She had married a United States soldier who became missing in action. She gave birth to her first child Raymond. After making it through the war, her Aunt who lived here, sent for her and Raymond. Her trip here, she escaped death again. The plane that she was booked on crashed, but she had taken another flight. They arrived on December 18th, 1955. She continued her nursing until 1972. During this time, she married James Raymond Eanes and had three more children, Walter, Eric, and Ina. When Dad passed in 1992, Mom took a trip back to Germany. When she came back, she decided to return to work. She worked a few years at DCF Aging and Adult Services. When her job ended, she went to Catholic Charities. After three months, she started at the St. Petersburg Police Department where she worked until four months before her death. She was preceded in death by her husband James, and her daughter-in-law, Bette. She is also survived by a large family; sons, Raymond, Walter (Peggy), and Eric (Ingrid); her daughter, Ina; 14 grandchildren, Julie (Tom), Jimmy, Jennifer, Jeff, Jarrod, Christopher, Danny, Brian, Nathaniel, Virginia, Daniela, Jamie, Joanna, and Nicholas; 7 great grandchildren, James, Thomas (Amy), Libby, Alisha, Austin, Courtney and Cheyenne. During her years at the Police Station, she adopted 14 four legged grandchildren, the K9's. She wanted me to request that in the event of a Memorial, that I ask for donations of treats and toys. We will celebrate Mom's life on October 22nd, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Bay Pines Lutheran Church, 7589 113th Lane, Seminole, FL.
