Obituary of John Pearson Fraser-Hawkins

FRASER-HAWKINS, John Pearson, (Jack) 88, of Madeira Beach, beloved husband of Joanne, went to sleep peacefully on August 7, 2012. Jack was preceded in death by his Mother, May Pearson Hawkins, and his Father, Archibald Clark Fraser, his Uncles, John Pearson, Cyril Pearson and Grandson, Baby Joseph S. Nycz, II. Jack was born in Brooklyn, NY to May Pearson of Sheffield, England and Archibald Clark Fraser of Aberdeenshire, Scotland and at an early age moved to PA. He graduated from Glen-Nor High School, Glenolden, PA in 1941. After graduation, Jack served in the Pacific in World War II in the U.S. Navy on the PT 276 Minesweeper. Jack was an Over-the-Road Tractor-Trailer Driver & worked for Matlack & Allied Chemical where he won a Truck Rodeo Event. He met his wife, Joanne and married on September 24th, 1966 and in 1968 they moved to Florida where Jack obtained his Real Estate License & was Property Manager for Bisbee-Baldwin in Jacksonville. Jack also attended Dale Carnegie for Public Speaking and won the "Impromptu Speech" on graduation and also attended Florida Jr. College for Property Management. Jack missed driving the "big rig" and eventually went back to driving where he worked for Motor Convoy, Motor Fuel Carriers & Red Wing Carriers. He was a dedicated & hard worker. Jack loved taking his wife and daughters camping, and he and his wife enjoyed competitive dance roller skating where he met Joanne. One year, they placed 5th in South Eastern Regionals for the U.S. Jack bought his 1st motorcycle in his early 60's, and he & Joanne would travel just about everywhere including long distance trips to PA to visit family. Jack also loved to take cruises going to the Bahamas and Mexico. He loved to play the organ but never had any previous musical background. He would tell you that he always thought a "C" note was a hundred dollar bill. Jack mastered his favorite song on the organ which is "Tea for Two". Jack always kept working and even after he retired, he was still working part-time at McDonald's in his early 80's. He loved the beach & took his 1st Jet Ski ride in the Gulf at the young age of 82. Jack was always straight forward & told it like it was, whether you liked it or not, and had a dry sense of English humor. You could never tell when he was serious, and when he wasn't, and he always came up with really good jokes. Jack never looked his age, let alone act his age. He would always say, "How old do you think I am?" They could never guess it and would be years off. Jack always gave his Wife and Daughters the credit for keeping him young at heart. Jack became interested in the Bible thru Joanne's Aunt, Helen Mitchell, on a motorcycle trip to Margate, FL. When Jack & Joanne returned home, they eventually both started studying the Bible and both became baptized Ministers as Jehovah's Witnesses on their 22nd Wedding Anniversary, September 24, 1988, and Jack remained faithful & loyal to the end. Jack had the wonderful gift of being able to speak to anyone about anything & could turn the conversation around into witnessing about the "Good News" and what God's Word, the Bible, meant to him and the future of a Paradise for mankind in which we all would reside in peace. Jack would always tell people he had an 800 number for the man upstairs, and the line is never busy, and he's always there to listen to him. Jack said he would call him every day. Jack will always remain and be with us in our hearts forever. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Jack was "one of a kind" and when he left us, the mold was broken and will never be able to be replaced. Jack and Joanne were married 45 years just shy of 6 weeks of celebrating their 46th Wedding Anniversary. Sadly missed forever by his Loving Wife, Joanne, Daughters, Mikel Joan Castro (Ronald), Michele Jean Vrobel, Sandra-Jo Anne Andrew (Steven), Barbara May Hawkins & Jacalyn Ann Orleski (Peter) along with (10) Grandchildren and (8) Great-Grandchildren and his pets, Kristi & Kandi (his baby). Kandi always made him laugh at the way she wiggled her little stump. Jack always referred to her little tail as her "stump". So, for now we'll say "goodnight" until we see you again in the new Paradise here on earth. Jack always had the faith, hope and promise of Jehovah's Word, the Bible, in John 5:28, 29 and Rev: 21: 3-5. A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 12622 Park Blvd., Seminole, FL 33776 on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM.
