Obituary of Kenneth Eagan

Kenneth "Kenny" Eagan was discovered deceased on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at his home in Dunedin, Florida. He was 73 years old.

Born on February 3, 1950, in the Bronx, New York, Kenny and his siblings were raised in Copiague, New York. Kenny grew up in a large Irish Catholic family and was one of seven Eagan boys. He was a graduate of Copiague High School and attended Westchester Community College. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War and was awarded medals for his time in combat. Kenny was an iron worker, painter, and handyman, and a loving father to Samantha and Jason.

Kenny was an avid reader who enjoyed watching football, fishing, hunting, and camping. Later in life, Kenny loved to sit on his back patio with a cigarette or cup of coffee in hand while watching the dolphins and pelicans. He enjoyed spending his nights in Dunedin at the Sandbar and Commodore Club, and he leaves behind many adoring friends across Florida and New York. Kenny had a zany sense of humor and will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, impressive stories, and outgoing nature. He was one-of-a-kind and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Kenny is preceded in death by his parents, William Eagan and Nora (Cullen) Eagan, and his brothers Billy, Richie, Michael, Tommy, and Brian. Kenny is survived by his daughter, Samantha Cowles-Eagan, of Albany, New York; stepson, Jason Cowles, of Franklinton, North Carolina; ex-wife, Jill Cowles, of Albany, New York; brother, Robert Eagan, and half-sister, Catherine (Eagan) Brush, both of Norwich, New York; and his niece and nephews.
