Obituary of Bryan Nelson Black

Bryan Nelson Black, 68, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 31st at his home in St Petersburg, Florida.

Bryan was born December 4, 1955 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to Herman and Barbara(Smith) Black. He grew up in Coolville, Ohio with older brother Roger, and went on to attend both the University of Miami and Carnegie Mellon where he received his Bachelor of Material Science in Engineering. After graduation Bryan began work with General Motors, moving his way up to management positions abroad, spending time in the Caribbean, Germany, Russia, and China. He retired in 2013 and started his own consulting firm within the industry.

Bryan loved classic cars, traveling, and sports, especially Notre Dame football. He was a season ticketholder for the Tampa Bay Rays. He loved live music, nightlife, and being part of the action. He also believed in lifelong education and learning, something he spoke about often.

Bryan was predeceased by parents Herman and Barbara Black, and brother James. He is survived by brother Roger(Mary) Black, nephew Craig(Liz) Black, nieces Alison(Brandon) Trammell, Alesha(Casey) Cronkright and their families.
