Obituary of Donna Childress

Childress, Donna C., 81, of Port Richey, FL passed away peacefully on August 4, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Phyllis Copp; and her siblings Karen Copp Traveis, Kevin Copp, Steve Copp, Linda Copp Jenkins, Joanne Copp and Julie “Jackie” Copp Jones; and her husband Barry Childress. She is survived by her siblings Regina Copp Barrera, Dean Copp, Glen Copp, Wayne Copp and Shawn Copp. She is survived by her children Michelle Terrell Livingston, April Terrell McComas, Shannon Whitmarsh Patterson and Jennifer Childress Lemon (stepdaughter). She is survived by 14 grandchildren (Sarah, Brandon, Luke, Joshua, Casey, Amanda, Brandy, Taylor, Braxton, Andy, Gavin, Kaison, Sierra and Renee) and 20 great grandchildren.

Donna loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time crafting, painting and knitting. Although she claimed to not like cats, she loved her kitten Juniper (aka JuJu), she also loved her dogs Loki and Mia. Having been a cancer survivor, she enjoyed taking part in Relay for Life and helping to fundraise for the American Cancer Society. In her younger years, she loved to dance and bowl. She was a devoted military wife.

Donna will be remembered as someone who was very giving, loving and always put her family first. She will be dearly missed.

A joint Celebration of Life will be held for Donna and Barry on a date to be determined.
