Obituary of Sheryl Rivers

Sheryl Elaine Rivers, 73, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023, at her residence in Clearwater, Florida. Sheryl was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Ruy and Gloria Harris who relocated their family to Florida when she was a young child.

From Tampa to Jacksonville with a few towns in between, Sheryl married and established a life in Polk County where she and former husband Gary built a home and raised their daughters, Christine and Gloria.

Fun loving, energetic, and outgoing, Sheryl loved making others' smile. Her selfless nature, huge heart, and love for life were evident to all who knew and loved her. Whether hosting a pool party or wedding, making Halloween costumes or Thanksgiving dinner, Sheryl poured all she had in all she did. She was an amazing cook, loved to dance, and sang with the voice of an angel.

Sheryl is survived by her daughters Christine (Brent) Brothers, Clearwater and Gloria Lambert, Mulberry; former spouse, Gary Rivers, Mulberry. Siblings: Carol Hanley, David Harris, and Gayle (Mark) Bowers all of Lakeland. Grandchildren: Christopher "CJ" Rivers, Zachary Rivers, Brandi Lambert, Jessica Brown,  Brandon Battle, Cody Brothers and Aaron Brothers. Six beautiful great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ruy and Gloria Harris, Sisters, Dianne Stickler and Donna Frances; Son-in-law Adam Lambert, and granddaughter, Brecca Lambert.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life to honor and celebrate Sheryl on July 15, 2023. For family and friends,time and location to be announced.
