Obituary of Nona Pierce

Nona "Marie" Pierce, age 90, of Largo, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on May 17th, 2023. She was one of thirteen children from Quincy, Florida.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents Alma and Walter Tipper; husband Ronald Pierce; and eleven of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her seven children; Patricia (Danny) Hayes of Tallahassee, Randy Bales and his wife of Lousiana, Mary (Terry, deceased) Dowdell of Virginia, Wanda (Ron) Tracy of Largo, Tim Pierce of Inverness, Stephen (Cindi) Pierce of St. Petersburg, and Theresa (Rick) Crowley of St. Petersburg; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren with one great-great-grandson on the way; sister Becky Ester of Mississippi; and many other loving nieces and nephews. Marie was particularly close to her sister Clara Johnson of Tallahassee, spending every summer with her until Clara's recent passing in October 23rd, 2022. Clara's daughter Linda was a very special niece to Marie, who she called "Aunt Reacey," along with Clara's daughters Margie and Anna. 

Marie's favorite hobbies were gardening and crocheting. She had heart of gold and was willing to help anyone with anything. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Marie's Life, to be announced at a later date.
