Obituary of Irma Bowman

On Thursday November 17th, 2022, Mrs Irma “Lynna” D. Bowman walked into the arms of Jesus. Lynna's family was with her, and when she said goodbye, her dear husband felt the hand of Jesus as he put her hand in his.

Lynna was fun loving, courageous beyond measure, honest, almost to a fault, and never lost her faith during her battle with cancer and other illnesses. Lynna never once complained through her last breath, and she was selfless and giving, always putting others before herself. She was one of the strongest women we have ever known, modest in her daily life, compassionate to all, and lit up the world around her with her smile and laugh. Lynna's passion was helping homeless and wayward kids, animals, and hats, and she was an avid supporter of our Military veterans. She was a member of the AMVETS Post 8, and the Elks 1224, St Petersburg.

Lynna is survived by her husband, John Bowman of 31 years; son, John Klarides; sisters, Kim Likens, and Deanna Almaguer, brother Walter E Bradley; grandsons, Logan Klarides, Colin Klarides and Troy Owens; Godchildren, Malachi, Matthew, and Mariana Bay; and best friends, Heather Bay and Diane & David Alvarez; and beloved pets, Abigail, Zachariah, and Milo Bowman. She was predeceased by her precious son, Nicholas “Nik” VanValkenburg.

The world will be a little darker without Lynna, and we will miss her loving, sweet laugh and beautiful smile until we meet again in heaven. Lynna, by God’s grace, you deserve eternal peace and joy and we entrust you into our Savior’s hands.

“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.” Matthew 25:23

In Lieu of flowers, Lynna wanted any donations to go the Veterans, Police or Covenant house for wayward youth in her name.
