Obituary of Wendy Gail Heddinger Dickey

Wendy Gail Heddinger Dickey of Largo, Florida was born on June 3, 1954 to the late Doris and Robert Heddinger. She quietly departed this life on Saturday, July 9, 2022. She grew up in Baltimore County, Maryland and was a graduate of Perry Hall High School. She was employed by Baltimore County Schools and Animal Control before becoming a devoted homemaker. Her passion was to provide outstanding care to her family. Wendy had several interests. She loved music. She had two favorite artists. Her first was Bruno Mars and his song, “Grenade” was one that she always played. Her second was Stevie Wonder. She had many favorites from him, but “As” was at the top of her playlist. Wendy was a “dedicated” Tom Brady’s fan and moved her allegiance from the New England Patriots to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he made his change. She was an avid reader of romance, mysteries and Amish books. Another one of Wendy’s favorite activities was bowling. Although Wendy had many interests, she was happiest just spending time with family and close friends. She enjoyed cooking for them and preparing their favorite dishes especially her “Seafood Gumbo.” Wendy leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted companion and husband of 31 years, James Dickey, Sr.; two sons, Brian George and James Dickey, Jr. (Randallstown, Maryland) ; daughter-in law, Tiffany Dickey (Randallstown, Maryland); two granddaughters, Jamie Dickey and Morgan Dickey (Randallstown, Maryland); step mother, Joanne Heddinger (Lewisburg, West Virginia); step brother, Don Gochnauer (Harford County, Maryland); three brothers-in-law, Ellison Dickey (Windsor Mill, Maryland), Michael Morrison (York, Pennsylvania) and Sidney Peacock (Jamacia, New York); four sisters-in-law, Anita Gochnauer, Catherine Dickey, Janice Morrison and Cynthia Peacock; special cousins, Claire (Wilson, North Carolina) and Terry (Belair, Maryland); close friends, Jerry and Marybeth Deritta (Venice, Florida), Tim and Faye Carter (Port Lucie, Florida) and a host of other family and friends.
