Obituary of Curtis C Johnson Jr

Curtis C Johnson, Jr, 94, of Largo, Florida passed away April 15, 2022. He was born on April 2, 1928, in Chattanooga, TN to Curtis and Marie Johnson. After retiring from his career as an Xray Technician he was an entrepreneur in the community. He started A-1 mobile Xray in St Petersburg and founded the Candy Kitchen on Madeira Beach in the 1960s. Before that he founded the full moon lodge in Tallahassee, FL and later he obtained Jigg’s Landing in Manatee County. He often traveled for work and called many places home such as the Marshall Islands, California, Puerto Rico, Tennessee and of course Florida. He loved his farm, tractor, horses, and several dogs over his many years. He was proceeded in death by many loved ones including his brothers Claude Johnson, Bob Johnson, James Johnson, his sister Helen Winn, his wife Helen Johnson, his son Roger Johnson and his grandchildren, Brian Johnson, and Jennifer Johnson. Curtis is survived by his brothers Michael and David Johnson, sister Janice Matheny, his children Kay (Don) Johnson-Barros and Lisa (Nathan) Gamache, grandchildren Rachael Caporossi-Sisler, Regina Caporossi-Petrucka, Alexis Gamache, Xander Gamache, eight great grandchildren, and many extended family and friends. A celebration of Life will be held at Fort De Soto Beach shelter 3 on April 29th at 6pm.
