Obituary of Veronica Putkowski

Veronica "Ronnie" Putkowski, 83, of Seminole, FL passed away March 20, 2022. She was born on February 17, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY to Robert Gildea and Veronica Murray. Ronnie went to St. John Villa High School in Staten Island, NY. In her younger years, Ronnie was a very good athlete, participating in basketball, roller derby, and competitive dancing. She married the love of her life, Chester Putkowski on June 30, 1962. Together they had 3 children Robert "Bobby", Maryann and Michael Putkowski. They retired to Seminole, Florida in 1995.

Ronnie was exceptionally creative in her hobbies and crafts including crocheting. One of the family's favorite memories, was to watch her with the grandchildren because there was always laughter, love and warmth. This was the case with anyone who arrived to her home, the door was always open, you were welcomed with open arms, and she was known as "mom" to many.

Veronica is survived by her children Maryann (Tom) McGivney and Michael Putkowski, and grandchildren Jackie, Matt and Kate McGivney, Douglas Putkowski, Joseph Forsyth, Robert and Justin Putkowski, and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Chester and her son Bobby, sisters Maureen and Gail, and brothers Robert and Greg.

Her Memorial Service will be on June 30th at St Justin Martyr Catholic Church at 10am followed by burial at Bay Pines National Cemetery at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to Suncoast Hospice.
