The problem is, all you can think of is 'why didn't we have more time?" why didn't we spend more time together? We loved them enough to drive from Florida to Mississippi for a short visit. They were like second parents to my kids,. But, time got away, we all moved around, and here I am 1200 miles away missing her. They say your good friends are the ones you can not see of talk to for ages and pick up again right where you left off when next you meet. Debbie was one of those. She had a dry sense of humor, a great capacity for love, and weathered so many storms not of her own making. I pray that she has reached her reward and will be waiting to welcome us all in the future. And, best of all..... out of pain. The pain is for those who are left behind. But, as long as you tell the stories, share the laughter, she's never gone. Meanwhile, we're here, if any of you want to talk. Love, Paul & Barbara

My mom was an amazingly strong woman. She had a huge heart of gold and soft welcoming smile. I hope she knows we love her and how much she'll be missed.

Debbie was born a few days before my birthday. We always had a shared party growing up. The picture is 1965 our first move to Florida.

Debbie was like an aunt to me growing up. Our families just clicked. We went thru a lot of good times and some bad times, having each other's backs- because family isn't just blood. (Ask her daughters, Heather and April. We were "ketchup sisters" instead! Lol) Debbie was a very strong woman that l admired and loved. It is hard to believe that l won't get to hear her laugh again as she recalls me writing on her dining room table, while apparently inebriated during the Y2K New Years Eve we spent with her and Andy. She had a lot of funny stories of all of us kids in the courtyard at Regency Park. I imagine her and the other parents were just as entertained as most people who watch reality tv today. We kids were all a mess. But, we always knew the parents who would do anything for us because they loved us. Debbie was certainly one of those parents. I cannot say how much she meant to me and my family and l am sad that she is gone. But, she is no longer suffering and can enjoy a Heaven that l know has welcomed her. Thank you, Debbie for all of your love. My life was better because you were in it.
