Obituary of Anastasia Freskos

Anastasia (Stacy) Freskos, 82 of Pinellas Park, FL passed away on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024.

She lived life freely with such joy and had a very positive outlook on life that she shared with many others freely. She became a cherished friend to all she encountered.

She was born in Staten Island, New York in 1942, the youngest daughter of Charles and Stella Caffentzis. She studied fine arts and graduated Cum Laude from Syracuse University in 1962. In New York she met and married George Freskos and moved from Chicago, IL to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where her only child Stephanie was born in 1967.

As she was known to many, Stacy taught adults art and worked at the radiology department of Deaconess Hospital in Milwaukee for many years. In 1984 she moved down to Florida to be closer to family members. In Florida she worked many jobs that were close to her heart. She worked with adults living with mental illnesses in the admissions department of Windmoor Hospital, at Vincent House Clubhouse and she was very active in the Pinellas County Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Stacy was a sensitive, considerate person who will be remembered as a kind, smart, fun-loving, generous spirit who loved doing crossword puzzles and always had a pen in hand.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Eric), her older brother Dr. Peter Caffentzis and also several of her nieces, nephews and cousins.

Stacy lived by the quote "We must be grateful for all the little things in life- walking, talking, moving, loving. Don't give up, and you have a chance." - Kirk Douglas, actor.

In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to The Vincent House in Stacy's honor.
