Obituary of Jayne Benz

Jayne Benz, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 11, 2024. She was a beloved mother, aunt, grandma, great-grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

Jayne was born on February 21st, 1940, in the Bronx, New York, where she spent her childhood. She moved to Seminole, FL in 1962. She was an avid Catholic and was an active parishioner at Blessed Sacrament, St. Justin Martyr, and later, at St. Jerome.  She volunteered for ministries such as a lector, RCIA, and Bingo at Church. She retired from Raytheon and was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.

But more than anything, Jayne was a devoted mother. She adored her sons, Bob Benz and his wife Myra Benz, and Bruce Benz and his wife Tammy Benz. She was a proud grandmother to Ashley Schallert, Adam Benz, and Alexis Benz. Her rays of sunshine were her great-grandchildren, Leah Schallert, and Jason Schallert. She cherished all her nieces & nephews and great-nieces & nephews.  She is now joined in heaven with her sister, Maryanne deBlasi.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, April 27th at noon. It will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church 11565 66th Ave N, Seminole, FL, 33772

The Funeral Reception to follow will be at Kris &Gerry’s House at 6 Bluff View Drive, Belleair, FL, 33756 at 2:00 pm. Parking is permitted on the street just facing the direction of traffic.
