Dear Rocco I just found out and I wanted you to know how sorry I am.It seems like I picked your brain for months, trying to learn how to be a salesman like you back in 77.Never could though.you were the best. The things you and Kenny taught me then have allowed me a good life doing what I love as a salesman.Ill remember my friend as a big bear of a man.....with a heart to match.Sleep well my friend, you will be missed

My memories of my uncle are short, and few. But the memories had impact and I always searched for meaning in his presence, always wondering what he was really thinking. I wondered: What would have to happen to make his life everything he ever dreamed? ?and for that matter, what did Rocco Bagnato dream? Rocci was funny, charming, and loved intensely by many, despite how hard it was to love a man who often kept his heart hidden and protected with barriers that few understood. So many people were affected by his time here in this world, and so many people desired to be much closer than they could ever reach. We will all have a different meaning attached to his passing. As I search for the gift of this event for me, I think most immediately of the opportunity we now have to interact with each other as family. All relationships require effort; and the most important relationship we have to master first is the one with ourselves. If I could have given anything to Rocci, it would have been the truth that he always held his own key to being happy and healthy. During his last visit in NY, we spent time looking through a box of old photos. He smiled as he chose and kept photos that included his children, his younger self, and photos of women whom had loved him. I wondered: What is he thinking? How does he see himself in these photos? ?as a man, as a father, as a lover? As this chapter closes for Rocco and for us, another chapter begins. Who did Rocco Bagnato decide to be during his life? And who will we decide to become going forward? Rest in peace my dear Uncle. You?ve given us much to think about.
