Obituary of Paul Vincent Mannion

Paul Vincent Mannion, age 49, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at his home in Clearwater, Florida with his wife of nearly 26 years at his side, having bravely fought a two year battle with cancer. At the time of his death, Paul had been provided with home nursing care from the "angels" of Suncoast Hospice. All who knew Paul agreed that he was one of the most caring, helpful, gentle and humble individuals they had ever known. He was quick to smile and share his infectious humor with family and friends alike. Paul's laugh was deep and hearty, one that prompted others to join him. He was a competitive horseshoe player in earlier years, enjoying the sport as often as time permitted. Paul also enjoyed his pet cats Aerial, Buckwheat, and Otis immensely. Paul's other love was the beach where he and Roseanne spent many hours in the sand and surf of the Atlantic in Hampton Beach, NH and more recently the Gulf of Mexico beaches of Pinellas County, FL. Paul is a former maintenance foreman for Ridge Seminole Management of Seminole, Florida, where he was employed since his move from his native Massachusetts to Florida in 2001, until earlier this year when his illness prevented him from answering the call to assist the many senior residents of the apartment complex where he provided excellent service, always going above and beyond his job description. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts on August 15, 1960, the sixth and youngest child of Regis A. and Dorothy M. (Ingle) Mannion, who both predeceased him, he lived most of his life, until his move to Florida, in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, where he graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1978. He worked for many years for a/d/s of Wilmington, Massachusetts, where he met his wife, the former Roseanne Giuffrida, who survives him. Paul is also survived by four brothers Richard A. Mannion of Manchester, NH, David R. Mannion and his wife Maureen also of Manchester, NH, Dennis G. Mannion and his wife Hope of Pittsfield, NH, and Raymond C. Mannion and his wife Donna of Pinellas Park, Florida, and one sister, Mary A. and her husband Perry Boyd of Seminole, Florida; Paul's wife's family members surviving him include her father Concetto "Chet" Giuffrida and his wife Paula of Hampstead, NH, and her two brothers Alfred "Fred" Giuffrida and his wife Diana of Hudson, NH, Michael Giuffrida and his wife Janet of Bradenton, Florida, Roseanne's grandfather Lionel "Papa" White of Salem NH, and her stepdad Douglas Maxwell of Methuen, MA. Paul and Roseanne are "Auntie and Uncle" to their many nieces and nephews Rick Mannion, Cindy Mannion, Tom Boyd, Sue (Boyd) Knowlton, Michael Mannion, David Mannion, Amy (Mannion) Hargrove, Lucas "Luke" Mannion, Shyla Mannion, Raymond Mannion, Kevin Giuffrida, Kayla Giuffrida, Michael Paul Giuffrida and Christina Giuffrida; other surviving family are cousins Michael Mannion of AZ, Thomas Mannion, and Paula (Polly) Mannion Bratton both of Ohio, uncles Paul Mannion and Vince Mannion of Ohio, and many friends and coworkers. Predeceasing Paul further are Roseanne's mother, Carol A. (White) Giuffrida Maxwell, and nephews David Mannion, and John Mannion, and grand nephew Thomas M. Boyd.
