Obituary of Jason Grandy

Jason (Jay) Grandy, 44, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on February 11, 2023. He was born on December 21, 1978.  

Jay loved music of every genre and was an excellent cook who constantly searched out new recipes.  An avid reader, he read every one of the classics.  He also loved hiking, camping and sports, and was a huge Buccaneer and Seminole fan.

He worked at Frency’s Saltwater Café. His coworkers were family to him. He loved to mentor and train new employees. He enjoyed working with the public in a fast-paced job.

Jay had wonderful Irish charm; his ready smile, infectious laugh and beautiful eyes will be forever missed by those around him. He lifted spirits and his day wasn’t complete until he made someone laugh.  Jay wanted everyone around him to be happy and he loved helping people.  He would drop everything to help family or friends and even someone he didn’t know. His legacy was the thoughtful and generous gifts he loved giving.

He was predeceased by his father, Lee A. Grandy, and his sister, Jillian M. Grandy.  He is survived by his mother, Theresa M. Grandy of Chattanooga, Tennessee, along with aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins.

Memorial services are being planned by his restaurant family in Florida and his family in Tennessee.
