Obituary of Henry DeKarz Jr

DeKarz, Henry (Hank) of Clearwater passed away at the age of 96 on December 31, 2022 in a Hospice Care Center.

Born in Buffalo, NY on September 24,1926, he moved to Florida in 1979 with his wife Dolores (Dolly) and son Michael (deceased).

He is survived by his wife, daughter-in-law Pat, grandson Mike Jr. and his wife Olivia, and granddaughter Cathy.

Hank was drafted into the Army in 1945, where he served as a sergeant in the Army band at the end of World War II. He later worked for Allstate Insurance for thirty years. Hank loved music (particularly big bands) and made many lifelong friends while playing the saxophone and clarinet in both New York and Florida.

He was a gentle, loving man and will be dearly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held at his home on Sunday, February 5 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. No RSVP is required.
