Obituary of James Marcus Hopkins

James Marcus Hopkins (Marc), age 47, died September 11, 2022 at his home. He arrived in this world on February 9, 1975 in Florence, Alabama to proud parents, Adele and Stan Hopkins.

Marc grew up in Florence, Alabama. He attended Auburn University and later graduated with an Associates Degree from Northwest Shoals Community College. He moved to Clearwater, Florida to be close to his mother; he stayed there because of his friends and his new family.

Marc is survived by his wife, Charmain Ross and step-daughter Chloe, father, James Stanley Hopkins (Lydia), half-sisters Jennifer Leigh Heinze and Hannah Hopkins, step-father Gregory Goodwin, aunts, Vicki Paulk Schafer (Rick), Sandra Hopkins Porter, and Susan Hopkins Hines, and uncle, Rodney H. Paulk (Becky). He is also survived by numerous cousins. Marc was very close to his cousin Andrea who grew up with him and also served as his fashion advisor during his high school days.

Marc is preceded in death by his mother, Adele Paulk Goodwin, grandparents, Bettie J. and Frederick D. Paulk III, Marie McKinney and James Ralph Hopkins, uncles, Stephen D. Hopkins and Michael Hopkins.

A Celebration of Marc's Life will take place at A Life Tribute Funeral Home, 716 Seminole Blvd, in Largo, on Sunday, October 2nd from 1-3pm.
