Obituary of Rickey Andrew Sims

Mr. Rickey Andrew Sims, age 69, of Dunedin, passed away on August 16, 2022 in the company of his loving companion, Ms. Mae.

He was born in New York, but raised in Waterbury, CT by his grandmother, Anne Dedo. He moved to Pennsylvania prior to moving to Florida to enjoy his retirement, residing in the area for the last 27 years. 

He was very artistic, particularly as a wood sculptor. Rickey used to play guitar, and he taught his daughter Kassandra how to play. Rickey was a person who was happy to stay at home, but did enjoy visits from family and friends.

Rickey was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, with whom he reunited in the last six years, Mary "Mae" Iles; children Rickey Carr of Tennessee, Mark (Kimberlee) Carr of Connecticut, Kassandra Sims of Florida; several grandchildren and many siblings around the country.
