Daryl,
I’ll never understand why you had to leave us. From the first day we met we became so close. For so many years you were my very best friend. Life has so many twists and turns. So much happiness and way too much tragedy. I loved you with my whole heart and I will always hold our relationship so dear. Now losing you is another tragedy we have to live with. I hope you are at peace. I hope you have the music on full blast in heaven and you have all our angels singing and dancing with you. Rest easy! I will miss you always. Until we meet again.

I have several happy memories of Daryl, but the one that stands out the most is back at Cortiva Massage Institute where we became friends on the first day. Toward the end of school we were all preparing for finals. Perhaps the one I was least concerned about was the hands-on practical in Integration class. Our instructor Robert King was a fair man but had zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absence. Having never been late or missed his class I had yet to experience his wrath first hand (LOL). I did however recall whenever a classmate was late and attempted to give a reason why his response was something like "I have no sympathy. I worked 80 hours a week AND went to school."
Finally came the day of our Integration exam and I slept in. I woke up in a panic knowing I was already too late to take the test. Upon my arrival I pled with Robert to let me make it up. "What was your reason for being late?" he asked, to which I replied, "Honestly... I'm a single parent who works two jobs. I've been cramming for all of my exams and it all caught up to me at the worst possible time. I wish I had a better excuse, but that's my reason." Robert turns around and announces I was going to make up my exam the following day and only needed a live person to be my patient. No one volunteered. "Come on..." Robert says, "Help out your friend. You know he'd do it for you." Crickets. Robert then turns around and reassures me I'd have the opportunity to make up the exam the following day provided I could find a live body to work on.
Shortly thereafter a female classmate agreed to be my body. I was suddenly overcome with a sense of relief. Well that person flaked the next day LOL. Desperate, I started asking everyone in sight as I only had a couple of hour before the exam. after several "no's' Daryl stepped up. I thanked him profusely. Had it not been for Daryl I would not have graduated. He was there when I needed him and to him I owe much of my success. I'm going to miss him dearly.

These are just a very small glimpse into the best friendship ever! The many, many trips and adventures we shared. So many memories of fun, laughter, and enduring friendship. Daryl was even with me in Puerto Vallarta for my wedding and was my Man of Honor! I will miss you terribly for the rest of my life. Until we meet again. Love you forever Daryl.

Daryl you will be missed dearly. I have so many found memories of you but my favorite ones were of us singing together at all our gatherings. I hadn't seen you in quite some time unfortunately and missed that.... but everytime I hear our song "Do I" I thought of you. You will forever be a found memory I will hold on to. Now go spread your wings, watch over us and dance like everyone is watching! Love you!
