Raymond D’Agaro

Raymond D’Agaro, the fourth of five children, was born in their family’s home in Bridgeville, PA, to Ann (Mandus) D’Agaro and Justo D’Agaro. He is survived by his wife, Jean, daughter, Denise, son-in-law, John, grandsons, Zachary Richmond and Jett Oliver, and sisters Doris and Maryanne. Raymond was never able to get over the untimely and unexpected death of his beloved son, Chet, who he worked with every day. Although Raymond was very smart, he didn’t like school, and left by the seventh grade. He then went to work for his dad where he learned plastering and other aspects of home building. He spent two years in the army during the Korean War, and after Ray returned home he met Jean Williams as she walked to the skating rink with her sister. After Ray and Jean married, they moved to Florida where they stayed, raising two children, and taking them on many of their outdoor adventures. Ray started and successfully ran All Brands Air Conditioning in Ft Lauderdale for most of his life, where he had over a thousand clients, all by word of mouth. Raymond loved aviation, flew his own plane, and, with his family, watched the Space Shuttle take off to the moon from a nearby shoreline (when you could still do that). Ray loved the outdoors, where he spent much of his time fishing, hunting, camping, and air boating through the wild Everglades. Ray and Jean had a nice RV and an airboat, and they spent several months traveling across the beautiful United States, to Alaska and back to Florida. Ray and Jean loved to travel with their family, going on cruises, traveling to Europe, and both learned to snow ski in their 60s. Ray loved to tinker with objects and the family never had a repairman in their home because Ray could fix anything and everything. Ray built two beautiful houses on the water in Ft Lauderdale. While living in one house, we watched him build the second house, from start to finish, next door. Ray was creative, had a great sense of humor, met others easily, and will be missed terribly.

We will be celebrating Ray’s life on Friday, Feb 25, at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, St Petersburg, FL 30708, at 1PM. Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of time. We will be having further memories at A Life Tribute Funeral Care, 716 Seminole Blvd, Largo, FL 33770, from 2 to 3PM.
