We (Ingrid and Jack) are deeply touched by the sudden death of our mutual friend Douchka. Our sincere condolences are for Earl with his great loss. About 15 years ago I came to know Douchka through a mutual American friend. And through our favorite Golf, I came to know Douchka and Earl much better. Since then I visited Douchka many times in Florida and she and Earl always welcomed me into their home with generosity and hospitality. A terrific host and friend on whom you could rely. We will miss her weekly contact through Skype to hear from her and Earl. To remember are their yearly travels to Europa to visit family and friend while I (we) took care of the cats in Florida. I will miss her dearly but the nice memories will remain. We wish Earl the strengths to bare his great loss. Ingrid Geuzebroek / Jack Meijerink

“Dear Earl, Douchka's Dutch Family, her American Family and all her Friends all over the World, Our Sincere Condolences with your sudden loss and the total shock it caused once we became aware of her passing. Although I met her only 10 years ago while still living in Florida, we remained in close contact after I moved back to The Netherlands in 2015. Our yearly or twice yearly visits to Palm Harbor were always a highlight. Her hospitality and generosity will always be remembered. I send my sincere condolence to Earl. Long time ago Douchka and I met in 1968 in Utrecht. We joined the same "jaarclub"with another 12 young girls. During the 6 years of our veterinary studies we were roommates on De Koningslaan. After the university we kept in contact all those years. She made the choice for scientific work on universties. I worked in vet practise and was mother of three kids. We tried to meet every year, here in the Netherlands or in Florida. I will miss her and will cherish dear memories of her, her mother and father. Anneke Wierenga-van Beelen

I am saddened to hear of Douchka’s passing. Although I did not have the chance to know her well I loved her direct and straightforward nature, which was always a breath of fresh air. Bill Noren was my second cousin and it was through him that I got to know her. She will be missed by many and my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
