Obituary of William Francis Meade

William (Bill) Meade (65) died February 15, 2021 at his home from complications of heart disease following a quadruple by-pass three years ago.   Bill was born in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of William Richard Meade and Sophia (Bachiewicz) Meade.

Bill attended Lakewood High School (class of 1972) and graduated from St. Petersburg Community College with an Associates in Computer and Information Science.   Following graduation, Bill served in the US Army for six years.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Gail Elizabeth.   Surviving family members include his sisters, Catherine (Meade) and her spouse, Cliff  Mitchell of St. George, Utah and Linda Joyce Meade of St. Petersburg, his brother, Richard Henry Meade of St. Petersburg, Florida, nephews Elijah and his wife, Shannae, Youssefi  of Springville, California and Eric Youssefi of Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as his niece, Sylvia Benito and her sons, Luca and Julen Benito of Miami, Florida.

Bill took life a bit easier in the last few years but never gave up working.   He loved his job at Lifoam where he was employed for the past 14 years.   Bill had many friends at work where he will be missed.   The family knew Bill as a quiet, kind and very gentle person who would give you the shirt off his back…and he literally did to anyone in need.  His favorite past times were barbequing with family and friends and a good game of chess.   He will be missed by his nephews and niece who thought of him as a favorite uncle, the “cool” one with the neat mustache.   Family in Canada remember his visits and fun rides in his red sports car.  His presence will be so missed by family across the country and Canada.  While life was considerably compromised by his health, Bill never stopped living to the fullest.

A memorial service will be held at a later date when travel and gathering together will be safe.  He will be interred at Memorial Park Cemetery in the veterans’ section.   The family will send information so that we all can say goodbye.
