Obituary of Margaret M Stackpole

Margaret (Mary) M. Stackpole, 69, of Largo, FL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.  Mary was born in Bath, New York, to Richard and Elma (Goff) Deegan. Mary was predeceased by her parents and her brothers Richard and Danny, and her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of over 44 years, Tom. She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Dr. Kevin) Wade and Dr. Rebekah (Brian) Zimmerman, five amazing grandchildren (Gregory, Audrey, Zoe, Lucy, and Cecily), her sisters Cindy Cain, Susie Larmondra, Tish Bresee, and Caty Deegan, along with several nieces and nephews.

Mary graduated from Haverling High School in 1969. She then obtained an Associates's Degree at Marymount University in Virginia and completed a post-graduate program in Fashion Design in Paris France. Some highlights of her career include working at Taylor Wine Company and later starting her own graphic design business, Graphically Speaking, with her husband.  She was incredibly proud to have helped write, design and produce the Bath History Book (“The Heritage of Bath, NY, 1793-1993: Discovering the Facts, Families, & Folklore”). Tom (Jeremy Farquar) and Mary (Gertie Schmirtz) got married on August 23, 1975 in Bath, NY.  They lived in Bath for over thirty years before moving to Florida with their furbabies to soak in the sun and put their toes in the ocean.

Mary loved her girls, sunsets, the beach, flowers, and animals.   She was incredibly proud of her daughters and their accomplishments and loved hearing stories about the grandkids. She was a wonderful, caring mom, always putting her family first before herself. She was silly, sweet, sassy and so very loved by everyone she met.

In lieu of flowers and cards, please consider donating to your local animal rescue or shelter, or just simply do something kind for someone, as Mary did every day of her life.
