Obituary of Phyllis Marilyn Crouse

Phyllis Marilyn Crouse, 83, of Largo, Florida passed away on August 6, 2020 at Morton Plant Hospital in Largo, on her 60thwedding anniversary. Born in East Orange, New Jersey, she graduated from Verona High School in 1955. She went on to receive her nursing degree from UVA, class of 1960. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph A. and Margaret C. Marx; her husband, William S. Crouse, Sr. (9/25/2019); and her sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Arthur Bade. Phyllis is survived by her sister, Carol (Mike) Magee; sister-in-law, Mary Larkin; five children, William Jr. (Kate), Mari (Steven) Drew, Virginia Gross, Barbara (Anthony) Tonzini, Kurt (Kate) Crouse; eight grandchildren, Brian Daloisio, Scott Daloisio, Christopher Tonzini, Tyler Gross, Margaret (Maggie) Gross, Olivia Crouse, Erika and Ava Crouse; twelve nieces and nephews: David, Peter and Debbie (Larkin); Andy, Eric, Jennifer and Julie (Bade); Tammy, Debbie, Kim, Jeff and Kristin (Carlson). Many cousins that are spread throughout the country. She was born with birth defects to her hand and foot, but this never stopped Phyllis frompursing her dream to become a nurse and a mother. Phyllis was a stay-at-home mom for 16 years, before returning to nursing as an RN, in the Mother/Baby Unit at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA for 21 years until retiring in 1999. Phyllis was active in her Christian faith. She actively attended church with her husband Bill, and they both were active volunteers with Christian fellowship organizations, Faith At Work and Serendipity, as well as, participating in bible study and senior lunches at Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Largo, where she and her husband attended. Nothing meant more to Phyllis than spending time with her family and friends. She touched so many lives and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. A memorial service for Phyllis will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020, 10:30 a.m. at Grace Christian Fellowship 901 Ridge Rd SW, Largo, FL 33770.
