Obituary of John Kenneth Sandvik

John Kenneth Sandvik, long-time resident of Woburn, MA, passed away on May 12, 2020. 

 

John leaves his family and loved ones Beth Sandvik of Woburn, daughters Ruth Steiner of Woburn, Elizabeth Spath and her long time companion Michael Elcock of Windham, NH, Sarah Russell and her husband Jeffery Russell of Milford, NH, Ashley Cail and her husband Gordon Cail of Billerica, his loving sisters Donna Good and her husband James of Bedford, Diane Anderson and her husband Donald of Pelham, NH, brother-in-law Gary Tremblay of Bedford, grandchildren Katherine and Emily Spath, Benjamin and Charlotte Russell, Mackenzie and Lillian Cail and much loved nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. John is the son of the late Vernon and Stella Sandvik and sister Ann Tremblay.

 

John was born in Chelsea, MA on September 19, 1954 and resided in Woburn, MA throughout his childhood and much of his adulthood. John was a veteran of the United States Navy assigned to the USS Roosevelt while being the plane captain and overseeing the maintenance for the aircraft Brownshirt. After briefly serving in the Vietnam War, John went on to have a successful career as a manufacturing engineer. John was a devoted father and husband who’s interests included extensive traveling, an uncanny natural talent for craftsmanship and cooking, spoke fluent Italian and had a wonderful sense of adventure. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
