Isaiah Grzetich

Obituary of Isaiah John Grzetich

Our sweet, precious, baby boy, Isaiah John Grzetich, age 16 months, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020, in his mother’s arms at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Isaiah was born on October 2, 2018 in St. Petersburg, FL. He was born with a genetic disorder called Patau Syndrome or Trisomy 13. He was not expected to survive longer than a week. Despite all of the obstacles and challenges that he faced in his short life, he thrived and he was happy. He was a determined little boy and always had a smile on his face. He was most comfortable at home hanging out in his “corner” or in his bouncer, playing with his toys. He loved going on walks in his stroller and giggled every time. Isaiah loved his older siblings and they loved him, sometimes fighting over who would hold him. He made an everlasting impression on all of our lives and he will be forever in our hearts.

Isaiah is preceded in death by his maternal great grandmother Charlotte Switzer; maternal great aunt Karen Switzer; paternal great grandparents Marilynn and MSgt George Spencer & Joseph Grzetich; paternal cousin Laila Rose Grzetich.

He is survived by his parents Elizabeth and Joseph; his brothers Hayden and Uriyah; his sister Gracie; maternal grandmother Denise Dahl (Scott); maternal grandfather Rolland & Nancy Switzer; maternal great grandparents Linda and Jerry Hansen, Russell Dahl & Lawrence Switzer; maternal aunt Emily Switzer (Sam); maternal uncles Ryan Switzer (Stephanie) & Dylan Switzer (Lindsey); maternal cousins Cayden, Brendyn & Jameson. His paternal grandparents Lesley and Jim Grzetich; paternal great grandmother Loretta Grzetich; paternal uncles Andy and Cassy Grzetich, Jimmy and Janel Grzetich, Jeff Grzetich (Maggie), Steven and Daryl Grzetich & Patrick Grzetich (Davena); paternal cousins Andrew, Jacob, Gwenny, Dexter, Trevor & Gabriel; plus many, many more great aunts and uncles + cousins on both sides of his mother and father’s families.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020, 5:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg, FL. All are welcome. March 13 is Patau Syndrome/Trisomy 13 Awareness Day and the color yellow represents this day.  In honor of Isaiah and Trisomy 13, we are asking anyone who would like to wear something yellow, to do so.
